Change Management Lead (Contractor)
We are looking for experienced change management professionals with a proven background working across organizational, process or technology projects for Fortune 500 clients. The focus of this position is to work with the business side of the client organization, whether it is a technology, process or reorganization project.

  • Preference given to those who are local to the client location or willing to relocate for the opportunity
  • Preference given to those who have worked for management consulting firms or worked on large-scale projects

Project Location(s)_:
-Upcoming need: project to be based in Chicago, Illinois for a GIS implementation effort (May/June 2019 start - Dec 2020)_
-Additional opportunities (timing TBD) in other cities focused on technology innovation i.e. Denver, Vancouver, Los Angeles

To be considered for opportunities you must:

  • Be available to be onsite due to the nature of the type of consulting work, and senior role for this client as follows:
  • If local to the client location (driving distance),be able to be on site 4-5 days a week with the client (40-hour week on site and additional hours as needed).
  • If you are not local to the client location (need to fly),we expect candidates to be able to travel regularly to the client location (at minimum 50% travel or 2 weeks of every month; and 100% onsite during key phases (kick off, discovery, go-live and support phase, etc.). For this situation, a weekly travel expense amount will be determined based on location to/from the project site location.
  • Note: if the client site location is local to the city in which you live, the client site is considered the ‘office location’, therefore the daily commute to client site location from your home will not be reimbursable from a mileage perspective. If the client location is in a different city where flights are involved, you will have an allowable weekly travel expense to work with in accordance with Nimble's and/or the client's travel policy.
  • Be an independent consultant with flexibility (i.e. Corp to Corp, 1099 or Temporary W2 as necessary).
  • Have strong client references (be able to provide 2 recent client references)
  • Be able to integrate within the Nimble Consulting team (who will be flying in as well to the project location)
  • Be able to pick up quickly on technical requirements and workflow changes for technology implementation effort across a wide variety of end users


  • You are an independent consultant with a minimum of 10 years of external consulting experience.
  • Within or in addition to the 10 years of consulting experience, you have at least 7 years of organizational change management experience, preferably across a wide range of clients - as an external consultant.
  • Demonstrated experienceleading change for technology implementationsand working directly with the affected end users at all stages of a software development lifecycle,
  • Exposure to, and understanding of how to integrate with the larger IT team in areas that affect your work and end user adoption, i.e. Proof of concept of technology, UAT, designing end user support and adoption metrics, etc.
  • Experience working in union or government environments as part of your end user audience
  • You are comfortable with leading projects on your own with minimal or no guidance; Able to scope, plan, and drive client projects and identify risks or gaps for mitigation purposes.
  • You can analyze business and end-user needs and develop and execute on:
  • Case for change
  • Planning for executive alignment and offsite planning and facilitation.
  • Educating executives and managers on their role throughout the effort.
  • Governance structure development and facilitation.
  • As-Is and To-Be Gap analysis (Org, Process, technology)
  • Stakeholder analysis and impact assessment.
  • Development of change management plans and adoption metrics.
  • Training needs analysis, training plan development
  • Developing Adoption metrics
  • Developing end user support model for technology implementations
  • Developing Communications (email, presentations, project website development, FAQs).
  • Survey development and analysis; Dashboard and metrics reporting.
  • Identifying and documenting related process changes as they relate to how the reorganization may affect employees functioning in their new roles.
  • Ability to explain change management frameworks and how they are applied with specific examples of tools and deliverables in different project situations.
  • Ability to work seamlessly with the Nimble Consulting team to provide consistent client service – this translates to aligning both to the larger client scope and to the Nimble Consulting brand.
  • Comfortable facilitating and driving discussions for executive stakeholders.
  • Experienced with leading a small team as a project change lead
  • Excellent writing skills with demonstrated ability to research content, work with Subject Matter Experts, and present complex information clearly for decision-making.
  • Technically adept with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, screen capture, web-based content management and authoring tools, SharePoint (developing website, survey, and document management).
  • Recent (past 3 years) client references required for consideration.


  • Preference given to those with more than 10 years of related consulting experience
  • Preference given to those who are local to the client location or willing to relocate for the opportunity
  • Preference given to those who have worked for management consulting firms or worked on large-scale projects side-by-side with management consulting firms (PWC, Deloitte, Gartner, Accenture, etc.).
  • Preference given to those with innovation or emerging technology (IoT, Blockchain, RPA, AI and Machine Learning)
  • Certifications such as: PMP, SPHR, Prosci certification, Being First or other change management coursework,
  • Process mapping experience: able to review and as necessary edit process maps and flow diagrams using Visio or PowerPoint.
