The Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting position at The Home Depot is a dynamic role with several key responsibilities, including supporting the daily operations of accounting, creating and analyzing monthly financial reports, and implementing process improvements through automation. These responsibilities include month-end e, preparation of account reconciliations, review of irregularities and performance of in-depth analysis through data-driven tools. This individual also plays a vital role in supporting several strategic initiatives as the Company transforms the controllership organization.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Support monthly and year-end close processes for assigned areas, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules
Support preparation efforts for monthly financial statements; provide analysis on financial information and accounting transactions
Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial statement disclosures on a quarterly basis
Analyze, report, and make comparisons to industry/company benchmarks; determine trends and prepare cost analyses. Gather disparate data from various data sources; analyze and normalize to ensure data integrity for analysis. Effectively prepare data analysis and reports for ad hoc requests. Provide insights through KPIs, metrics and other reporting to drive action
Assist/lead in significant ad-hoc projects including streamlining existing processes, implementing future state accounting technology and tools, and leading accounting workstreams for new business requirements
Regular involvement in process improvement, automation, and related effort
Provide recommendations based on findings and analysis. Provide input on policies and procedures
Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams across the Controllership and Finance organizations
Support with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance: help define requirements for processes and controls; develop and update process documents; identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness
NATURE AND SCOPE This position typically reports to a Manager Typically requires highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive or controversial situations. Typically faces situations that are unstructured and require original approaches. Typically considers new approaches within general policies and short-term goals when solving problems. Typically, once given general assignments, determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 years
Physical Requirements: Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasion
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred
CPA or CPA track
Computer application skills such as Microsoft Office Suite, SAP or other large ERP system, Account Reconciliation tools, Winshuttle, Tableau, etc
Software skills under S4HANA/Blackline/Access/Data Analytics, etc.
Three to five years of experience is preferred
