Medical Specialties Distributors, LLC (MSD) is searching for an IT Infrastructure Project Manager for our location in Stoughton, MA!
Job Summary: The IT Infrastructure Project Manager will report into the IT PMO and IT Service management team. This role is responsible for leading various and simultaneous IT Infrastructure projects of various sizes and complexity and ensuring the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of these projects. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to provide strong leadership and direction to the cross-functional project teams comprised of system and network engineers, database administrators, developers, business stakeholders, project sponsors, external consultants and vendors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Drive project-based implementations and deployments of new systems/services/applications within the IT Infrastructure and Service Management Team
Provide architectural input and guidance as needed
Work collaboratively with project sponsor(s), business and project stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans based on approved funding, project charters and timelines. Project plans will include: Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Organization and Communications, Resourcing, Risk and Issue Management, Testing, Implementation, and Change Management
Manage all aspect of Infrastructure and Support Services projects including Incident Management, Configuration Management, Release Management, Change Management, Services Desk, Service Request Fulfillment, Asset/License Management, and Identity Management
Monitor, challenge and ensure predictable delivery of projects – driving accountability of work stream owners and enabling escalation of risks and issues that require assistance or attention
Initiate action to identify and resolve project problems/issues and reports on mitigating steps and actions taken to ensure timely deliverables, project success and quality assurance
Ensure high level of quality in solutions is delivered. Lead various program governance meetings including routine core team / program office meetings as well as escalation, steering and sponsor reviews
Evaluate prospective vendors, manage the procurement process and ensure quality, timeliness, and cost-effective delivery of services
Provide weekly status reports highlighting accomplishments, plans, issues/risks and needed decisions/approvals to project/business stakeholders, project team members and senior management
Develop and promote best PMO practices, processes, methodology and efficiencies across the organization and contribute to advancing PMO artifact consistency and process improvements
Cultivate inter-departmental relationships with all stakeholders
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities):
Bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years’ experience in a technical environment with a variety of IT system experience. At least three of those years of experience must be leading the execution of IT projects in a project manager role.
Demonstrated experience managing Infrastructure programs and projects from inception through implementation with a strong working knowledge of current information technology and network systems and concepts including but not limited to:
disaster recovery, data center facilities, network LAN/WAN (including fiber, cabling, wiring installs and upgrades), networking equipment installations, windows servers and desktops, virtualization, wireless, cloud computing, SQL, application deployment & support, remote site support, phone systems as well as having conceptual knowledge of Active Directory
Demonstrated experience with various SDLC methodologies from waterfall to agile/scrum.
Candidate must also have excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to lead and manage a large community of stakeholders and project teams
PMP Certification strongly desired but not required
Note: This is a project focused role, not a ‘technical support’ role however right candidate will need to understand all of the components and be able to “speak/understand the language” but more importantly, drive the necessary tasks and understand the cause and effect of the decisions made.
