Job Title: Master Electrician
Job Summary:
The Master Electrician oversees and performs electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring that all work complies with relevant codes and regulations. They provide guidance and supervision to apprentice and journeyman electricians, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Installation and Repair:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and control systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems, providing effective solutions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national codes and regulations.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to protect themselves and others on the job site.
- Conduct safety inspections and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Supervision and Training:
- Supervise and mentor apprentice and journeyman electricians.
- Provide training and guidance on proper installation techniques, safety practices, and code compliance.
- Review and approve the work of less experienced electricians.
- Project Management:
- Plan and coordinate electrical projects, including estimating costs, materials, and labor.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
- Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Perform regular maintenance and upgrades on existing electrical systems.
- Assess the condition of electrical systems and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Implement energy-saving measures and ensure systems are efficient and up to date.
- Customer Interaction:
- Communicate with clients to understand their electrical needs and provide technical advice.
- Prepare and present cost estimates and proposals for electrical projects.
- Address customer concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Valid Master Electrician license as required by the state or local jurisdiction.
- Experience: Several years of experience as a journeyman electrician or equivalent experience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or vocational training is preferred.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments and conditions.
Working Conditions:
- Work may involve exposure to electrical hazards, heights, and confined spaces.
- May require working evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts for emergency repairs.
- Physical demands include standing, bending, and lifting heavy equipment.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per year
