Nursery Attendant/Teacher

Bluffton UMC is seeking Nursery Attendants/Teacher to serve the 8:30am and 11:00am services on Sunday morning. The hours expected to work will be 8:15am-12:45pm. On occasion there could be additional hours during special programs during evenings. The responsibilities of Nursery Attendant/Teacher is to work in a team setting to care for young children ages 6 mo-5 years old. You will be expected to care for each child's need while in nursery care and Sunday school. This could include but not limited to supervising bathroom care, snacks, safety, and teaching age related Sunday School lesson for Preschool-Kindergarten.

We require all teachers, staff members, and volunteers who work with children to go through a screening process that includes an application form and a criminal/child abuse background check. Nursery workers are also required to complete 3 hours of Safe Sanctuary training within 60 days of their start date, through the United Methodist Church.
The Director of Christian Education, in conjunction with the SPRC, is responsible for determining the suitability of nursery workers to care for our children. It is a priority to recruit and maintain nursery workers who will provide responsible, and developmentally appropriate care for all children staying in the nursery. A schedule will be determined and discussed with each nursery attendant.
