Mechanical Component Designer will be a part of the Product Engineering group for Large Motors. Designer will complete motor dimension drawings and Bills of Material to meet customer requirements for production motor orders (engineered to order product).
Designer will provide mechanical engineering support in conceptual and practical development of AC induction machine components working directly with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers on designing customer solutions. Prepare clear, complete and accurate detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches, change orders or notes.
Will use NX8.5 CAD package, as well as other internal programs, to aide in motor design.
Completes complex drawings to suit engineering changes and initiates engineering changes. Completes the creation of complex design layouts and detail drawings of complex products. Performs compilation of materials and specification sheets. Performs dimensions/specification determination necessary on complex drawings for effective manufacturing. Performs the designs of cost-effective complex products with adherence to applicable industry and customer standards/specifications. Completes complex investigations related to product design and maintenance. Performs review of complex engineering drawings and supporting documents for adherence to drafting standards. Completes planning test programs. Selects material based on application; may coordinate procurement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (required)
- Proficient in 3D and 2D, or another major CAD package
- Experience in creating, dimensioning, and tolerancing manufacturing drawings
NX 8.5 experience is preferred
