As part of the Global Business Insights team, this position will contribute to the development and delivery of useful and timely information to decision-makers and business leaders in an easy-to-understand, efficient, and accessible manner.
This role will allow Skechers to build in-house expertise and advanced capabilities using Business Intelligence and Analytical Platforms, Environments, and Tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, others as needed).
The BI Platform Administrator and Architect will be responsible for design and implementation of BI and analytical platform architecture, including semantic layer, performance optimization methodology, self-service environment and overall BI solution definition. This role will ensure adherence to standards and best practices for BI deployments, including performance optimization, design and platform development.
The role will provide technical leadership, guidance and mentorship to promote the BI and analytical best practices and governance across the company. It will also support critical relevant business and analytical processes and will make recommendations for improvements and analytical strategy.
Essential Job Results
Responsible for enterprise data sets in the context of BI and Analytical platforms and environments, including Enterprise Data Model, Dimensional Model, Project Schemas, Enterprise KPIs, Data Dictionary, Cubes, Data marts, and Managed Objects.
Manages BI and analytical environments, applications and tools, including performance, maintenance, upgrades, licensing, user provisioning, compliance, governance and certification of data and analytical assets.
Defines and implements BI semantic layer and BI platform architecture in alignment with business goals and objectives.
Leads and evangelizes analytical and visual data discovery, self-service, reuse and optimization across company-wide analytical community.
Manages Enterprise Intelligence Platform environments, including Project Configuration, User Provisioning, Analytics Security, Distribution Services, Cube Configuration, Cache Management, Project Objects Migration, Platform Environment Monitoring and Alerting Tools. The Enterprise Intelligence Platform Environment hosts the data, application, security, and related services necessary to deploy analytics and mobility applications throughout the Enterprise.
Provides Ongoing maintenance, support and operations of the Enterprise Intelligence Platform Environments and Tools.
Ensures security, compliance and governance as part of BI platform management
Provides recommendations for continuous improvement and best practices in architecture and user adoption of BI and analytical solutions and products.
Provides technical leadership, guidance and mentorship to team members and to the company-wide analytical community.
Collaborates closely with data engineering, IT, and business teams to design and implement actionable, useful and timely BI solutions to support the company goals.
Champions data-driven culture and ensures data quality, integrity and usability.
Learn new technology and tools as needed to perform job duties
Develop and maintain internal knowledge repository
Establish expertise in key data domains, data sources, and analytical environments
Serve as a subject matter expert in BI platforms and BI architecture

Education and Experience
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, finance or related fields
5+ hands-on professional experience in BI platform architecture and administration
Extensive hands-on experience with MicroStrategy platform management and architecture, object development, advanced visualization techniques
Experience with other BI platforms, including Tableau, Google Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other digital marketing platforms, BI and analytical tools
Deep understanding of advanced analytics and data science methodologies and platforms, as well as integration of such platforms with MicroStrategy and Tableau
Database design and hands-on semantic layer development experience
Experience performing data and business analysis
Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and other MS Office tools, as well as Jira, Confluence and other project management and collaboration tools
Hands-on experience with cloud BI implementation and system integration
Strong SQL skills, experience with ETL tools such as Talend, Pentaho, Informatica
Familiarity with R or Python
Experience with agile, iterative development methodology
