Job Description: Floral Manager

Reports To:

Operations Manager

Position Summary:

The floral manager oversees floral orders, flows marketing ideas, sets display windows, creates invoices & receives payments, and manages the overall needs of event and everyday floral.

Responsibilities:

Ultimately, the floral manager’s job is to manage the overall floral business, in regards to everyday floral as well as event related floral. Responsibilities include:

  • Attending company meetings and event planning meetings as requested
  • Process incoming floral orders and input invoices as well as receive payments
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base
  • Creates purchase orders for floral & supplies
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with clients and understanding their needs
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Participate in and facilitate NSE marketing opportunities – e.g. Wedding or event trade shows, non-profit events, speaking engagements, etc.
  • Maintaining the office by assisting with regular cleaning activities such as vacuuming and décor cleaning, as well as seasonal decorating including window displays
  • Managing work availability and communicating this to the scheduling manager
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Education Required:

Minimum 1 year of work with NSE or other professional event company required

3 years of previous floral experience required

Job requirements:

The floral manager position requires a desire to deliver outstanding product through management of client relationships, marketing strategy, and sales. This individual must consistently strive to improve sales and strategy. Specific Requirements include:

  • Successful previous experience as a manager, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Commitment to continuous education
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of basic web development & IT applications
  • Strong construction and floral design skills
  • Working knowledge of floral and supply terminology
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Maintaining a professional attitude at all times while representing NSE
  • Dressing professionally for all work related events in conjunction with NSE requirements
  • A willingness to embrace change and adapt to situations on the fly
  • An ability to send/receive phone calls and emails concerning scheduling and communication needs
  • Ability to manage and thrive on a team
  • Punctuality in all scheduled shifts/meetings and promptness in completing requests/ job tasks
  • Ability to lift, transport, and assemble items at least 30lbs
  • Proficiency in computer use including MS Office
  • Problem solving skills

  • Calendar/Time management

This position is full-time, non-exempt status
