Job Summary

Manages all aspects of customer service delivery for the Office of the University Registrar. Supervises customer service clerical and student staff and assures clients receive appropriate service. Oversees the creation and distribution of UMass Amherst transcripts, the distribution of external transcripts for transfer credit evaluation, and other related materials that support the needs of students.

Essential Functions

Supervises customer service staff. Oversees the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation and delegation of work assignments for all direct reports.
Provides support to the Associate Registrar for Systems in interacting with third party vendors relating to transcripts, diplomas and student scheduling solutions. Provides input to system staff to aid in selection of appropriate third party processing solutions.
Coordinates transfer evaluation process through the University's imaging system. Designs and implements evaluation processes in collaboration with other systems staff members.
Processes error lists and clears up data inconsistencies. Creates reports and coordinates data distribution for A-133 financial aid audits.
Provides faculty support in the end of term grading process. Works with systems team during all aspects of end of term grade processing. Processes grading changes and reviews difficult cases with the University Registrar.
Runs batch jobs in SPIRE relating to enrollment, withdrawal and grade processing. Reviews results and remediates errors.
Other Functions

Performs related duties as assigned or required to meet Department, Executive Area/Division, and University goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of experience in higher education student administration.
Previous supervisory experience.
High level of proficiency with computer applications and software.
Knowledge of data management and reporting practices.
Experience with student information systems.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

Experience within a Registrar’s Office.

Typical office environment.

Monday - Friday, 37.5 hrs/wk
