VisionPoint Marketing is a rapidly growing integrated marketing agency, recently ranked in the top 5 best employers in North Carolina and we are looking for an experienced Controller to join our growing team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy of day to day bookkeeping and accounting transactions, while helping to drive and improve the financial processes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a financial background to join an amazing team and help shape the future of the company. The Controller will report directly to the President and CEO.

What You'll Do

Responsible for oversight of all accounting tasks (payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, plus internal and external financial reporting and reconciliation of accounts), with support from the Office Manager
Review and revamp (as necessary) financial reporting systems and processes
Work closely with the CEO to establish and maintain systems and controls to verify the integrity of all accounting and finance processes, systems, and data
Implement and document GAAP accounting policies
Develop and maintain systems and processes required to track information to comply with GAAP and an annual audit
Design and implement a system for timely capturing, reporting and periodically testing the accuracy of (i) employee time expended to fulfill identifiable customer contract performance obligations in individual customer contracts and (ii) estimates of the remaining time required to fulfill such performance obligations, as a basis for recognizing the value of contract performance obligations as revenue each month
Build cross-departmental relationships and hold managers accountable to ensure timely and accurate information is collected and shared
Design and implement systems for tracking KPIs across multiple departments to be used for regular business monitoring and analytics, monthly reporting, and board packages
Prepare work papers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances
Design, implement, and lead the monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
Analyze actual results against the budget/forecast
Lead the process and development of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, related analysis, and MD&A for senior management and the board of directors; including credit facility covenant monitoring, forecasting, and compliance reporting
Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances
Assist with the preparation of board packages
Work with auditors to complete annual audit
Coordinate the preparation of annual tax return with outside CPA firm
Assist in the development of the annual budget
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and develop ad hoc reports
Interact frequently with the executive management team and board of directors
ARE YOU A PERFECT FIT?

The ideal candidate would possess the following skills, interest and experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, Master's or CPA required
6+ years of related accounting and finance experience
Expertise working with Quickbooks, Excel, and Google applications
Strong GAAP, financial reporting, and business analytics technical skills
Knowledge and experience applying current (effective 2019) revenue recognition standards (GAAP) to long-term customer contracts containing multiple performance obligations
Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills; including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
Proactive and able to manage priorities and time effectively
Strong work ethic with a commitment to high standards of excellence
