Summary of Duties: The Front Desk Receptionist is a multi-skilled administrative health professional who works independently and interdependently with health care professionals in the office to provide quality administrative and customer services to the patient.
Job requirements: Friendly, self-starter personality, and high quality interpersonal and phone skills required. Strong organizational skills needed. Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office required. Experience with medical office reception is helpful but not required.
Expectations: The Front Desk Receptionist serves as our business’ first exposure to our customers and therefore it is essential that he/she maintains a friendly, professional demeanor at all times, even in the face of an occasionally very stressful encounter with the public. A friendly smiling, and patient personality are therefore of highest priority. Prompt arrival 15 minutes before shift is expected. Clean, professional appearance at all times. The employee is expected to perform all tasks that may be assigned. The employee is expected and encouraged to identify and undertake projects without direct instruction.
Physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to ability to lift up to 30 pounds, ability to use proper body mechanics when assisting with patient transfers or assisting with patient walking as needed.
Hearing / Speaking: Effectively communications with patients, staff and visitors.
Standing: Ability to stand 20% of the workday.
Sitting: Sitting 80% of the workday
