We are looking for a Senior Application Engineer with prior experience in the primary/secondary markets, syndicated Equity or Fixed-income products and book building platforms. This technology role will require the successful candidate to take on numerous responsibilities and will necessitate close partnership with business users and other technologists. The candidate should have strong software development background and experience of building and supporting front office applications. The position will be interfacing with Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Access (syndicate trading and events/conference management platforms). This individual will work with business users and technology groups to: to deliver first class applications to DCM and ECM businesses.
Candidates should have:
Demonstrated history of delivery of strong technology solutions on mission critical platforms
Must have experience with investment banking syndicated products, book-building process.
Must be a team player
7+ years of business systems analysis or design experience
7+ years of capital markets experience
2+ years of Tableau experience
3+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience
3+ years of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) experience
5+ years of SQL experience
7+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
8+ years of development experience with one or more of the following: Java, C++, C#, C, or .NET
8+ years of experience working with Relationship Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL
10+ years of application development and implementation experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Other Desired Qualifications
Extensive knowledge and understanding of capital markets, foreign exchange pricing conventions, and web based technology
Extensive knowledge and understanding of mathematical modeling
Basic knowledge and understanding of SEC, FNRA, and international regulations for building technological solutions
Experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization
Effectively communicate with both the business and technology and both verbally and in writing.
The ability to communicate within a multi-disciplined team, across multiple locations and to interact with demanding business users.
A flexible, hardworking and "can do" attitude; comfortable working in a fast paced environment with frequent release cycles.
Possess a positive, professional attitude that is adaptable to project needs.
Have a good mix of software development and system analysis skills.
Conceptual understanding data flows and system integrations.
Knowledge and understanding of technology business systems analysis or design in capital markets and investment banking
Knowledge and understanding of operational work flows/processes for capital markets and investment banking, including industry participants
Knowledge and understanding of industry regulations for developing technological solutions
Able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors.
Escalates and owns full transparency around project status, issues, risks and drives them to resolution on a timely basis
Responsible for coaching and mentoring junior team members
Experience with information security and safe software development practices
