Our office staff is available to assist when you are out on the job and manages all bookings and client profiles. The position of midday dog walker is perfect for retirees, stay-at-home parents (while children are at school), and anyone over 18 looking for rewarding part-time work with excellent wages.

Responsibilities and Duties.

For the position of midday dog walker you need to be available at a minimum 10:00 AM-3:00 PM. You must own an insured car and smartphone, be highly motivated to work as part of a team and communicate with our main office by email and text on a daily basis in a prompt and professional manner. You must be comfortable communicating with clients via phone and email. You must download and use our free app during your daily dog walking route and switch on your location services during that time. You must complete all your appointments on time and with eye for detail, care and attention to each client's needs and expectations. You must make yourself available to join client consultations, which may be scheduled outside the 10AM and 3PM time block and support the team by taking on back-up dog walks. You must be proactive, well-organized, plan your dog walking route well, keep track of your supplies and keys, have eye for detail and be attentive to the security and safety of the client's pets and homes.

Qualifications and Skills.

You need basic knowledge of dog/cat care, be well-organized, punctual and flexible, dedicated, dependable, and ready to work outdoors rain or shine and have your own insured car, personal cell phone and be on email/cell daily and while dog walking. You must pass a criminal background check, 2 interviews with our management and a professional reference check. You need to demonstrate that you are detail-oriented and motivated to work with animals. You need to be eager to learn more about dogs, have owned and cared for dogs in your past, learn about breeds, behaviors and dog care. You need to be able to commit to this job for 1 year minimum since our clients request long-term primary dog walkers for their dogs. No summer or holiday jobs available!

Other Vacancies to supplement your M-F midday income:
Pet sitter: available 6-9 AM and 4-10PM, week and weekends (paid by the visit), Holidays
Overnight sitter: need to be available 4:30 PM - 7:30 AM, week and weekends (paid by the hour even while asleep) - EXTRA $$$

Casual dress
Employee status means you do not pay self-employment tax. If you work as subcontractor, sole proprietor or independent contractor you would pay 2x the tax
Earn 100% of tips. This is a service job, so tips are encouraged and promote

Training.

We offer training on the job and require an initial orientation training meeting. Our sitters also get CPR & Pet First Aid training which is reimbursed after six months of loyal service. You always get introduced to a client house and the pets before servicing the house on your own. More individual training is possible upon request.

Wages.

Pay is based per visit. Avg. $16.50/hour as a starter rate. Raises may be given after 3 months, 6 months, a year, and then every year. We also offer bonuses on the basis of performance and annually before the Holidays. This is an employee position, so employer costs and taxes are take care of by KSR Pet Care.
