McDermott Will & Emery LLP is seeking a Marketing Specialist to support our growing healthcare and life sciences industry marketing initiatives. This person will implement marketing campaigns and help to ensure brand differentiation and competitive position. This position will help lead event promotions, produce content and build practice-specific project plans incorporating an overarching strategy, development options and creative concepts.

As a Marketing Specialist, you will:

Determine messaging content and liaise with the design team on visuals for advertising materials for Firm sponsorships
Implement marketing programs across numerous platforms (email, website, blogs, social media, video, podcast and print), ensuring all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style and quality and optimized for search and user experience
Partner with attorneys and the Business Development team to provide guidance on marketing initiatives, coordinate editorial support and postings, and advise on enhancements
Manage event promotions plans including pre, live and post event promotion

Event Promotions

Execute marketing promotion activities in line with the event marketing budget and in support of driving qualified attendees to each event
Help BD meet their event revenue goals
Deliver “near live” event promotions

Content Creation

Create content for client-facing marketing collateral, including practice overviews and brochures
Counsel on content development, monitor industry trends and collaborate with lawyers to create compelling perspectives on key issues facing clients

Social Media

Manage social media strategy, content and reporting
Draft and manage targeted, strategic content to leverage thought leadership on Firm social media accounts and guide best practices


Manage the production and distribution of client-facing publications based on Firm’s communication model, and ensure brand consistency and editorial quality
Partner with attorney authors on publication production and distribution schedules and client conflict checks

Measurement and Analytics

Produce industry and campaign level dashboard based on KPI reports

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
At least five (5) years of related work experience
Advanced knowledge of email campaign, social media and blog platforms
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
Knowledge of CRM software, website content management systems and WordPress
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong motivational and leadership skills
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
