Lead Financial Analyst
Our newly created Lead Financial Analyst will lead the business unit month end close process. Responsible for the management of inventory balance sheet and P&L accounts. Also responsible for headcount management across the plant. This role partners with the Finance Manager and Business Unit Operation Team Leads for all annual financial planning and analysis activities.
Manage preparation of annual budget and monthly projections for all inventory adjustment expenses as well as gross/net inventory balances
Assessment and necessary corrective action of key reserve and accrual account balances
Own financial database and provide business intelligence for all business unit performance indicators—update/modify with the ever-changing business unit needs
Primary analyst supporting manager in annual internal controls (SOX) evaluations, including facilitation of sample testing
Partner with materials Team Leaders on all Fixed/Variable expenses, provide analytical explanations of actual to budget, actual to projection, and actual to prior year variances, and direct manager’s attention to opportunities for corrective action
Host monthly Business Reviews with key stakeholders providing expense analysis and trends
Develop and document all monthly, quarterly, annual, and audit-related business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal (SOX) controls and support external assessments
Provide feedback as the subject matter expert in the development of Corporate financial policies and assist in policy implementation
Prepare reports, analyses, and special studies as needed and assists management with general and financial accounting projects
Focus on customer satisfaction, solve problems through a consultative approach, operate with honesty and integrity, and provide a highly responsive level of customer service
Commit to quality by continuously searching for ways to enhance performance while meeting all training and documentation criteria
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in one of the following disciplines: Finance, Accounting, Information Systems (with Cost Accounting electives), Mathematics (with Cost Accounting electives), Computer Science (with Cost Accounting electives)
Pursuing MSA, MSF, MBA, and /or CMA or CPA
4+ years related industry experience
Intermediate level of industry (GAAP/SOX) and operations manufacturing knowledge
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Hyperion Enterprise, JD Edwards (ERP), and Microsoft Query experience
High attention to detail
Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
Must be versatile, flexible, and willing to enthusiastically work with ever-changing priorities
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence others
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines without compromising accuracy
