Job Description – Director, Procon Supply Chain:

The Director, Procon Supply Chain will lead strategic sourcing and procurement and report to the Vice President, General Manager. S/he will lead all aspects of sourcing and procurement including spend analysis, contract reviews, supplier audit and management, and supplier cost and working capital improvements. The Director, Procon Supply Chain will establish, deploy and audit compliance with new Standex corporate / Procon guidelines for sourcing and procurement.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide management and oversight to sourcing/procurement functions
  • Design, lead, and/or implement cost savings initiatives and strategies across all areas of spend
  • Design, lead, and/or implement Supplier Management processes and controls including negotiations / contract management, relationship improvement / development and risk management
  • Develop and implement sourcing initiatives centered around cost and working capital improvements driven by group sourcing, bundling, supplier consolidation, risk and compliance, and improved operational performance
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to contribute to operational cost savings measured outside of traditional sourcing activities
  • Define sourcing/procurement strategy and establish procedures to optimize the supply chain across multiple manufacturing locations with differing strategies
  • Develop plan to provide supplier and functional spend visibility, stakeholder engagement plans, contract summaries, annual sourcing plans and market insights to drive both short and long-term procurement strategies
  • Lead development of all sourcing related process functions including spend assessments, request for proposal (RFP) development and execution, contract negotiations and supplier transitions
  • Lead, mentor and support the organization to execute annual sourcing strategies and supplier management activities
  • Ensure procurement policies and procedures are accurately reflected and executed throughout organization
  • Bring strategic thought leadership to business to build credibility and identify additional cost and operational efficiencies - LEAN
  • Perform Total Cost of Operation/Ownership evaluations to identify new cost and efficiency improvements
  • Enhance, lead and execute supplier performance management program including supplier reviews, scorecard management, contract compliance, issue resolution and product/service delivery
  • Provide relevant employees with training and mentoring to improve competency and job satisfaction
  • Support planning, forecasting and budgeting of the purchasing spend for the business
  • Administration, management and overall oversight of the sourcing/procurement teams, supplier relationships, processes and platform
  • Assists in the annual budget planning process and regularly monitors expenditures for each manufacturing location
  • Compliment and reinforce the Standex Value Creation System and all Corporate / Procon strategic goals

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management or combination of experience; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years strategic sourcing and supply chain management experience
  • Experience in leading LEAN enterprise
  • Multiple instances of insourcing and outsourcing both products and services
  • Strong international sourcing experiences from which to draw upon in a diverse group of businesses; best value country, local source-and-produce, etc
  • Negotiations expertise and ability to multiply the skillset within the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a decentralized environment with an ability to deliver results
  • Ability to lead all RFP-related activities
  • Deep knowledge of product and service spend categories
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent Computer proficiency in ERP related systems, Forecast Tools, MS Excel, Access, and PPT
