The Clinical Laboratory Director is responsible for leading a group of laboratory employees in an environment of continuous quality improvement.
Required: Bachelor's degree with major in biological science or related field plus one year of training in an approved school of Medical Technology or equivalent.
Required: Must have advanced laboratory experience with five years of management/supervisory experience.

Required: Licensed as a Medical Technologist Supervisor with the State of Tennessee Laboratory Licensing Board.
Department Position Summary:
The Director oversees and coordinates with the Team Leaders a variety of duties in the laboratory to include budgets, both operating and capital, personnel, staffing, counseling, regulatory compliance, productivity, project management, outreach and marketing, and continuous quality improvement. The Director works closely with all members of the laboratory management team on project development and all areas of CQI. The manager performs the duties of laboratory supervisor as specified by the Laboratory Licensing Board of the State of Tennessee. The manager assists the Chief Operating Officer whenever necessary and supports the philosophy and objectives of Erlanger Health System and the Clinical Laboratory.
