Have you seen Accountemps's Full Charge Bookkeeper position? Based in Tucson, Arizona, the Full Charge Bookkeeper role is a short-term temporary opportunity. In this position, you will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements, as well as establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.


  • Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents
  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed
  • Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules
  • Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows
  • Maintaining knowledge of current federal, state, and local legal requirements, ensuring adherence to them, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
  • Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing
  • Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
  • 3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field
  • General ledger experience
  • Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
  • Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
  • Payroll experience preferred
  • Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
  • Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting
  • High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request
  • Prior experience with Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree
  • Strong organization skills
