Business Unit Manager - Test Systems
Position Summary: The Test Systems Manager is responsible for the general and strategic management within the business unit ZF Test Systems North America. This includes business development and account management of different customers in the industry.
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the business unit, leading the organization of ZF Test Systems North America at locations in line with the global Business Unit IT Strategy and processes
Focuses on Outside Sales/Commercial Management, Customer Relationship Management, Business Development, Customer Service, Engineering Change Management, Business Planning/Scheduling, and Inside Sales
Ensures the successful installation/commissioning of test equipment at customer locations (internal and external)
Promotes continuous improvement in the operations through the life-cycle of all test systems
Responsible for planning and managing all sales/new business acquisitions activities for North America. This responsibility extends from the initial design discussions through the final negotiations with the customer purchasing team. The local business development activities are bases on an aligned local market strategy as part of the global Business Unit Strategy.
Responsible for sales growth and customer portfolio growth within the region, in addition to developing market/industry penetration strategies. Responsible for managing trade shows and marketing activities according to the agreed local strategy as an integrated part of the global business Unit strategy
Responsible for managing and directing all customer service operations, all product design changes. This includes the technical level2 engineering responsibility of mechanical, electrical and automation/control services.
Responsible for the operation Planning and strategic planning and Forecast planning, cycles produces a sales, ROC, budget and resources plan for the P/L
Representative for ZF Test System in North America (Canada, USA, Mexico). Ensure continuous review and improvements of organizational processes in area of authority. Leads staff in a goal directed and motivating manner for attainment of the best possible result.
Comply with all TS16949 policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Industrial/ Mechanical Engineering.
8-10+ years of experience with OEM/Tier One automotive and regional sales with an electronics focus,
8-10+ years of experience managing/directing others and/or managing key accounts in addition to delegating/tracking independent work assignments for sales programs
Expert-level knowledge of sales, account management and marketing principles.
Proven project and time management abilities as well as organizational/budget planning.
Broad knowledge of a discipline, such as product engineering, automotive sales, OE account management, or inside sales and customer service initiatives with a high-level expertise in industrial/regional sales distribution chains, strategic marketing initiatives/research.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work in an intercultural environment with international colleagues
Ability to influence and engage personnel and management at multiple levels within internal and external organizations
Willingness to travel frequently both domestically and internationally, up to 40%
English language competency - both oral and written
Superior interpersonal, communications and listening skills.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and personnel.
Preferred Skills and experience:
Master's Degree in Electrical/Industrial/ mechanical Engineering and Master Degree in International Business
Experience in in test systems for tires and wheels and/or driveline testing
Additional education and/or formal training in project management and finance
Knowledge of SAP
German and/or Spanish language skills
