The New Jersey Judiciary, Administrative Office of the Courts, Human Resources Division is seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong customer service, analytical and organizational skills. Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Supervisor 3, the chosen candidate will provide guidance and technical support to Vicinage Human Resources staff in areas of payroll processing and position classification. The selected candidate will also be responsible for generating reports, possess a solid understanding of payroll processes and will act as one of the internal subject matter experts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Correspond with internal units and statewide vicinages regarding judiciary positions, account numbers and cost center changes
  • Verify and correct vicinage personnel actions entered in the Personnel Management Information System (PMIS) and the Judicial Human Resources Information System (JHRIS)
  • Assist in the bi-weekly regular and supplemental payroll process using Judiciary payroll systems
  • Develop effective working relationships with liaisons in Centralized Payroll and the Civil Service Commission
  • Prepare and monitor statistical reports using Business Objects
  • Create well designed complex reports and graphs using Excel
  • Participate in team and unit meetings and recommend improvements in operating procedure

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is highly recommended.

Salary: $49,576.81 (Starting salary will normally be at the minimum but may go up to 15% above based on education and experience)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree and three years of professional experience in payroll processing, benefits administration, salary administration, classification, labor/employee relations, training, selection/recruitment and/or Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action.

Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate's degree and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. A master's degree may be substituted for one year of experience. A law degree may be substituted for two years of experience.

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the “New Jersey First Act,” all persons newly hired by the Judiciary must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
