Special Events Coordinator - Development

New York-Presbyterian seeks a Special Events Coordinator based at our corporate office located in midtown. This position will report to and work closely with the Senior Director of Events to assist in the Hospital’s efforts executing high-touch fundraising and engagement events for a variety of audiences. In order to be successful, this individual will need to work collaboratively with other staff in the Office of Development and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Tasks:

Coordinates activities related to planning, scheduling and executing all fund raising and donor cultivation events initiated by the Development Department.

Coordinates events, including major opening and dedications of named locations, symposium and lectures, receptions and fund raisers.
- Coordinates all on site logistics on event day, including load in, set up and breakdown of vendors, liasions with Development frontline fundraisers and Hospital Leadership to make sure speaking program and logistics run smoothly.

Serves as the primary liaison with outside services retained to assist in event planning, including consultants, caterers, printers, entertainers, etc. Monitors the performance of these vendors and assists in negotiating favorable contract terms.

Identifies, cultivates and solicits current and prospective donors for corporate and individual underwriting, in-kind donations, ticket purchases and contributions to select Hospital events.

Provides training and advice for solicitations to volunteer leadership events and programs.

Collaborates with Development Communications on production of written materials for events, including direct mail pieces, invitations, speaking points, sponsorship proposals and follow-up letters.
- Collaborates with Development Audio Visual on all staging and audio visual needs.

Provides primary staff support for affinity groups involved in events. Assists groups attracting volunteer support and in initiating new fundraising opportunities.

Manages expense reports for all events and conducts cost-benefit analysis for the return on investment for events.

Required Criteria

Bachelor’s Degree
-
4 years experience with fundraising events.

Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.

$76,000-$111,000/Annual
