Senior Director, Vendor Management
The Senior Director of Vendor Management is responsible for driving the strategy and day to day tasks for the overall vendor management function. The Senior Director will provide strategy, guidance and best practice knowledge to build a vendor management discipline that covers the entire vendor relationship life cycle and is consistent across the organization. The Senior Director will be responsible for the implementation and management of the Vendor Management Program, which will align and supplement existing vendor management policies and practices. Will manage risk, value, and performance of vendor relationships.
Job Description:Role and Responsibilities:
Streamline vendor due diligence and vendor operations processes and ensure proper oversight through the entire vendor life-cycle. This will include developing and maintaining organizational policies and procedures for vendor management activities.
Source and Negotiate and contracts for key vendor relationships that drive cost and service improvements.
Ensure contracts are consistent with corporate objectives.
Lead the consolidation of vendor base where such efforts would yield greatest benefit for Lumeris, ultimately delivering cost savings year over year while encouraging vendors to provide innovative solutions.
Lead the development and adoption of corporate vendor management standards and provide support and training to other functional areas in vendor management as needed.
Remediate vendor performance issues
Define and report on vendor spend, as well as Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for sourcing, contracting, and vendor performance Utilize KPI’s to increase vendor performance, reduce risks and total cost of ownership (TCO) across the vendor portfolio.
Direct and consult with corporate leaders in identifying business and vendor needs while developing and managing strategic supplier relationships that increase performance, reduce cost and reduce risk.
Ensure compliance with internal, local, and federal guidelines and safety standards.
Assist in the implementation of an enterprise-wide Outsourcing Vendor Management Program to align with and supplement existing Vendor Management policies and practices
Implement corporate policies to govern outsourcing vendor relationships
Partner with other corporate groups such as IT Security, Legal, and Risk on controls and policies
Respond to audits and interviews from regulators, as needed
Experience, Qualifications and Education:
A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field required.
Certified Purchasing Manager designation preferred
10+ years’ experience in leading vendor management, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiations
Prior experience with enterprise controls and oversight for outsourcing vendor relationships
Experience using qualitative and quantitative methodologies to analyze spend, identify and implement process improvement/savings opportunities, and measure ongoing purchasing performance against plan.
Working knowledge of business law, legal contracts and various financial issues (i.e. cash flow and working capital)
Demonstrates the ability to apply a broad and integrated perspective when planning, problem-solving and assessing impact across functional areas.
Possess the ability to remain unbiased and ensure vendor and purchasing decisions adhere to company policies and corporate objectives.
Proven ability to develop effective relationships and work with all levels of the company including senior and executive management.
Experience negotiating large external vendor contracts.
Ability to review and negotiate vendor agreements and scopes of work to ensure alignment with business needs and strategy
Ability to envision and execute; process and policy changes, change in corporate culture, alignment between enterprise strategy and individual business channel needs
