WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Position Summary:
The Manager of Marketing & Communication North America is responsible for the development and execution of the communication and marketing strategy of Rheinmetall Automotive in North America and in close cooperation with the central Corporate Communications Department of Rheinmetall Automotive is in charge of strategic marketing in the region. Disciplinary reporting is to the Presidents of Mechatronics and Hardparts in the region. This position also handles the regional Marketing and Communication budget and personnel planning for the department. Professional reporting is to the marketing headquarters of Rheinmetall Automotive in Germany. This position ensures consistency among all activities and the corporate identity strategy with respect to regional demands and needs. This position works closely with the Sales, Engineering, and Human Resources departments in North America and coordinates plant-marketing contacts at the production facilities in the region.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Marketing

Development of marketing plan for the region.
Application of global marketing activities to ensure brand consistency.
Identification of trends and benchmarks in the market.
Creation of regional action plans and campaigns.
Providing guidance to marketing agencies.

This includes but is not limited to:
Show and event management(e.g. auto show, tech day)
Advertising and sponsoring
Promotional items and apparel store
Identification and contracting with relevant marketing agent
Employer Branding

Application of the group wide employer branding strategy and activities according to regional demands.
Collaboration with the regional HR department and the Rheinmetall Automotive communication department to establish Rheinmetall Automotive as an employer brand in the region.

This includes but is not limited to:
Booth at career shows
LinkedIn entries (RHA channel)
Website
Employee Newsletter
Press/PR/Media

Primary contact for all media requests in the region.
Identification and follow-up of relevant corporate and technical topics for external media.
Creating/editing news releases.
Providing guidance to local media/PR agencies.
Write Local Press releases.
Contribute articles to group magazine “Heartbeat”.
Coordinate with media/ PR agencies.
Internal Communication

Identification of regional internal communication demands.
Roll-out, administration, and further development of internal communication media.

Including but not limited to:
Onsite Employee newsletters
Gate2 Automotive – rollout and maintenance
Strategic Marketing

Development of North American Competitive Intelligence Framework and key contact to strategic regional sales and marketing departments.
Regular Industry Newsletters to global executive team.
Development and delivery of further reporting to gauge marketing and communication effectiveness, such as regional marketing analysis.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
Level of Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and/or Communication
Master’s Degree in relevant field a plus
Preferred Level of Experience

5+ years of experience in marketing and communication; leadership experience; project leadership experience
Level of Knowledge/Skills

Advanced knowledge in Marketing and Communication practice and good media contacts to North American automotive trade press
Oral Communication

Ongoing communication with work teams
Lead meetings, plant/site-wide
Plant/site-wide communication, presentations, special communication
Communicate with shareholders, outside agencies and organizations

Written Communication

Compose contracts and/or legal documents
Compose company announcements and communication
Compose articles in professional language
Compose letters/memos for internal/external use
Complete forms for internal/external use
Use e-mail system
