Intel's Assembly and Test Technology Development ATTD Automation organization hires talented software engineers to create, develop, test, and support factory automation systems that enable Intel to manufacture leading edge semiconductors.
As a Machine Learning Engineer Intern within ATTD Automation, you will partner with other software engineers to build machine-learning based products and/or solutions, which provide descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, or prescriptive models based on data.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Using or developing machine-learning algorithms, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, Bayesian analysis and others, to solve applied problems in Computer Vision.
Interacting with users to define requirements for breakthrough product and/or solutions.
Utilizing current programming methodologies to translate machine learning models and data-processing methods into software, in either research environments or specific product environments.
Completing programming, testing, debugging, documentation and/or deployment of the solution and/or products.
Engineering Big Data computing frameworks, data modeling and other relevant software tools.

Internship will take place during 2021 and compensation will be given accordingly based on candidate education level and internship duration.
You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position.
Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Knowledge and/or experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Pursuing a master's degree or PhD degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related discipline (preferably in final year)
6+ months of experience working with foundation in Computer Vision including Deep Learning
3+ months of working knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
Development experience on both Windows and Linux operating systems. Good understanding of Windows internals and Linux kernels.
Computer architecture, networks and operating systems knowledge.
Systems background in parallel and distributed computing, communication protocols, client-server paradigm.
Performance optimization and tuning, e.g. loop vectorization, optimal data retrieval, etc.
Service-oriented architecture, microservice architecture, multi-tiered and distributed architecture
Data structures and algorithms
Exposure to modern machine learning frameworks, orchestration frameworks, containerizing solutions
Experience in system integration, management and verification
