About the Area:

An early capital of the Texas Republic, this sprawling metropolitan area has plenty to offer people of all ages! The city’s temperate climate makes outdoor activities popular year-round; favorites include biking, boating, golfing, and cooling off at the lake, beach, or one of the region’s many themed water parks. Sports fans can take in a professional baseball, football, basketball, or soccer game—keeping the intrastate rivalry with some of Texas' other pro teams alive. History buffs can embark on an architecture tour or explore the famed Texas Independence Trail to learn about the Lone Star state’s struggle for freedom. The Museum District offers plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in culture, and over a dozen shopping areas mean even the most discriminating shopper is sure to find something appealing. You’ve probably worked up an appetite after all this activity, and with some 10,000 restaurants offering cuisine from every corner of the globe, you won’t walk away hungry.
