Sales Support Lead Job Description
The Sales Support Lead is responsible for managing a team that handles a diverse range of incoming internal and external requests including escalations and other administrative sales tasks. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations and leading a team by providing guidance, coaching, and support. Activities will include Government Solicitations, Quote Requests, Order Processing, Tracking Tools, Customer Service, Contracting, Price Lists, Marketing and Technical Product Support. The primary function of the Sales Support team is to provide any support necessary to facilitate the success of the Inside and Outside Sales Teams. The Sales Support Lead reports to the Director of Sales and is expected to have significant interactions with many other departments within the company.
Knowledge, Critical Skill, and Experience Requirements
- Degree Preferred
- Ideal candidate will have 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in hospital, acute care, or pharmaceuticals.
- Keen ability to analyze problems, gather pertinent data, and recognize/recommend solutions.
- Mastery of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Advanced proficiency in CRM software (e.g., NetSuite/Salesforce)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven time management, administrative and organizational skills.
- Professionalism with a friendly, welcoming, and energetic personality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Customer service centric and detail-oriented is a must.
- Excel working in a team environment as well as ability to thrive as an individual contributor with minimal supervision.
- Ability to support a work environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement, execution, and a passion for providing service.
- Must have a metrics-driven continuous improvement mindset.
- Veterans are a plus.
What you’ll do as the Sales Support Lead:
- Reply to Government RFIs, RFPs and Solicitations while conducting thorough QA checks on contracts and related documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies and standards related to pricing items.
- Demonstrate experience and ability utilizing CRM NetSuite/Salesforce as a support tool
- Manage the request queue while strategically allocating resources to meet service level agreements and deadlines.
- Monitoring team workload to adjust priorities as necessary to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Develop marketing initiatives as needed to include social media content across multiple platforms and company website content updates.
- Handle complex and escalated cases that require specialized knowledge and expertise, providing timely resolution and exceptional customer service.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline sales support operations and ensure consistency and efficiency. Document existing processes and identify areas for improvement. Train team members on SOPs and ensure adherence to established procedures.
- Manage performance reporting by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the performance of the sales support team and identify areas for improvement. Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimization.
- Provide regular reports and updates to leadership on sales support activities, challenges, and opportunities.
- Cultivate a concierge mindset and culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the sales support team. Solicit feedback from team members and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
- Encourage proactive communication and anticipation of internal and external customer needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Customer Service, Contracting, Accounting and Data Teams to resolve issues promptly. Driving for continuous improvement and collaboration of support processes company wide.
- Regularly meet with leaders of the organizations to establish priorities and maintain a cohesive strategy.
- Provide the Sales Support team with resources and training to excel in all areas of their roles including product knowledge, systems training, and communication skills to build strong customer and company relationships.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
