A Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled tasks including all levels of maintenance repairs, and overhauls as directed by supervisory personnel. To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and diagnose all levels of compressor systems failures.
Optimize compressor equipment performance.
Stay abreast of advanced compressor and engine theory and maintenance.
Comply with all company and customer safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Comply with all other company policies and procedures.
Complete appropriate paperwork as directed.
Perform duties as trainer when requested.
Continually hone and develop electronic and computer skills.
Present a professional image.
Education/Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
2 Year Technical Degree, Mechanical Trade School Certificate or 3+ years trade experience
Must be highly proficient in compressor and engine maintenance.
CAT 3600 Series compression engines experience preferred
Must possess complete understanding of surface production equipment.
Must have troubleshooting skills and seldom require assistance.
Should be able to diagnose general electronic control problems.
Must be able to operate all types of diagnostic tools.
Must be willing to travel and relocate if necessary.
Must have a thorough understanding of inventory policy and be able to help control inventory.
Must have a mechanical aptitude. Must be willing to perform DOT physical.
Must have dexterity in the use of tools and equipment; required to climb about equipment and work at various heights; Able to use physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools.
Able to work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position and work in confined spaces; able to bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs. and apply up to 100 foot pounds of torque.
Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
Must be able to react to conditions, alarms, and beacons using olfactory senses.
Able to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
Work indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment.
Work in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
Must wear special safety equipment (PPE) while working.
Travel Away from Area 25%
Subject to Call Out rotation with 24/7 response.
