Insurance Recovery Group, Inc. (IRG) is an established and growing Second Injury Fund recovery company headquartered in Massachusetts. IRG is currently seeking a Second Injury Fund Recovery Specialist with the position being specific to Second Injury Fund and Cost of Living Adjustment reimbursements to be recovered from state funds.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Deep knowledge of each active jurisdictional SIF/COLA refund requirements
  • Participate in file reviews to identify recovery opportunities
  • Ability to identify, investigate and gather proper information in support of perfecting the claim in order to file the notice to fund
  • Prepares necessary documentation in a timely manner in accordance with State filing requirements
  • Manages the claim investigative process in an timely effective manner
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients throughout the claim process
  • Assist internal partners when necessary throughout the life of the claim
  • Proper and timely documentation of efforts made and next step actions in support of client results
  • Manage assigned accounts – Serving as primary contact providing reports and requesting file list for review
  • Assisting other specialists/back up who are out of the office on time sensitive matters
  • Must use established guidelines and techniques such as conflict resolution, timeliness, quality and effectiveness to respond to all inquires
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a claims related experience in the workers comp line
  • Prior sales/client management experience preferred
  • Exceptional customer service and phone skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Takes ownership and accountability of servicing adjuster
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service skills
  • Effective in cultivating strong business relationships through clear focus on internal and external customers – Assist in training
  • Exhibits positive attitude and patience when communicating with clients
  • Easily adapts to changing situations, requirements and collaboration
  • Basic ability to navigate computer and applications (MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Travel - limited basis to visit clients, assist in sales and attend conferences
