This position is for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will work on various projects as part of the NS&E Engineering services team. The projects that will be assigned involve government work throughout various sectors, including DOD and DOE. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs.
In this position the engineer will support design development of Mechanical systems and equipment (including HVAC and fire
protection) for the project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, data sheets, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. Work with estimating, mechanical engineers, and other technical disciplines in a team environment. This position is anticipated to require travel to project jobsites between 25 and 50% of the time.
Coordinate within the engineering group and other disciplines and groups independently in developing the preliminary system design and equipment identification in a team environment
Resolve technical issues related to the discipline independently, including any required interface with other disciplines, groups, suppliers, and the customer
Execute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product
Support development of project cost and schedule estimates
Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team
BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related), from an accredited university, with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, P&IDs, calculations, and specifications for Mechanical systems and equipment on power plants, refineries or chemical process facilities.
Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
US citizenship required. No duel citizenship.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.
Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards, as well as Corporate guides and standards.
Broad knowledge of the application of Mechanical engineering design principles.
Obtainment of Engineering in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering in USA within 12 months of hire
Bechtel Certification - SR Engineer
Prior work experience in execution center environment and demonstrated flexibility in work assignments.
MS degree in Mechanical or related Engineering, from an accredited university.
Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Mechanical or related Engineering).
Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
Possess an active security clearance or the ability to obtain one upon hire.
