PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Associate Director of Provider Education will serve as a primary institutional resource and educator related to general compliance matters and clinical documentation and coding. The Associate Director will work under the direction of the Enterprise Chief Compliance Officer to educate, train, and support clinicians and other members of the Jefferson community in their efforts to create effective and accurate clinical documentation in support of Jefferson’s overall mission, vision, and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Functions as a knowledgeable expert, consultant, educator, and evaluator to maintain and improve educational services, and to mentor clinicians in their efforts to enhance their clinical documentation activities.

Develops training programs that assist clinicians with accurately documenting their delivery of safe, effective and high quality patient care consistent with Jefferson’s values, mission and long-term strategic plan.

Designs and implements data-driven educational program development, evaluation, and improvement strategies.

Develops targeted metrics with which to evaluate training efficacy and applicability.

Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES :
Gathers and analyzes information to determine overall education and training benefits to providers based upon pre-defined metrics.

Collaborates with appropriate Jefferson personnel to evaluate provider workflows, implement supports, assist in the development of effective documentation tools for use by clinician providers

Gathers and analyzes information to determine overall education and training benefits to providers based upon pre-defined metrics.

Facilitates the use of change management procedures for education and training system improvements.

Identifies and supports provider champions for clinical documentation and professional fee coding, and actively mentor them as future documentation leaders.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:
Required certifications include ICD-10 CM and one or more of the following: ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer, CPC, CPCH, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, and/or RHIT

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
5 or more years of required experience includes, provider education, auditing, and billing and/or coding expertise OR
3 + years of clinical experience (i.e. Medical Degree, Advanced Practice Nursing, Senior Clinical Documentation Specialist, or other clinical experience)
