Software Development Engineer I (front end) - Seattle, WA

As a front end Software Development Engineer on Expedia's Storefront team, you will be part of the team working on problems including Search, Recommendations, and event-driven Data-Insights and Analytics. You will build and improve highly available and scalable software which serves as an internal platform for several brands within Expedia Group. The technologies involved include React, JavaScript, AWS, HTML, Java.

What you will do:
Use your experience building stable, high quality web apps to enhance existing features and add new features on the Homepage.
Write automated tests to ensure the quality of your code
Support and enhance our DevOps practice: address monitoring and troubleshooting as primary concerns
Automate infrastructure deployment and management
Coordinate and collaborate with other members of your Squad to deliver on the team's sprint commitments

Who you are:
Desired experience: 1-2 years in software engineering
Must have a BS in Computer Science or a related engineering degree
Experience with React or a similar JavaScript library. It is also helpful to understand Object Oriented Programming vs. Functional Programming and to have some awareness of Design Patterns
Some experience with Java or a similar language.
Must have some experience with writing automated tests (unit tests, functional tests, etc.). An understanding of the TDD and CICD mindset is helpful
It is useful to have experience with applying data mining to infer user intent in order to guide business decisions
