Hiring Salary/Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00/hourly
Molecular Medicine is a basic science department within the Morsani College of Medicine. This position is a research technician position in a molecular biology laboratory.
Work independently on research projects ongoing in the lab as well as in a team setting.
Under supervision, conducts standard experimental protocols within the framework of research objectives using mammalian tissue culture, preparation and isolation of DNA and RNA, western blot analysis and PCR amplification, in vitro assays.
Performs cell culture and maintenance of various cell lines including adipocytes, neuronal, skeletal and smooth muscle.
Analyze data generated from experiments.
Ordering lab supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
A Bachelor's Degree and at least one year of work experience in a basic research, biology or biochemistry laboratory setting.
Handling and processing tissue experience is preferred, but not required. Master's Degree in Biochemistry or related area with lab experience.
Skills in primer design and analysis, real time PCR.
Cognitive and behavior analysis.
