Disability Product Manager - Remote Opportunity - (19001314)
This position will develop, implement, and provide ongoing support for Group Life, Disability and Absence products and initiatives which are designed to maximize profitable growth and achieve revenue targets.
Actively monitor the competitive landscape and apply this knowledge to designing and implementing new products and enhancing existing products to position Guardian as a leader in the Group Life, Disability, and Absence Management Insurance industry.
Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying and participating in the research needed to obtain market information.
Brings new products to market by developing proposed product requirements and an implementation plan; prepares cost benefit analysis prior to implementation.
Increases product market share by working with sales leadership to develop product sales strategies.
Develop and execute plans to improve product positioning.
Work closely with Actuarial/Pricing, Underwriting, Legal/Compliance/State Filing, Marketing, Training, Project Management Office and BTS/Information Technology organizations to create and enhance our existing portfolio.
This position reports to the Director, Group Life, Disability and Absence Products, who in turn, reports to the Vice President, Group Products and Worksite Leaders.
Marketplace understanding of market trends.
Knowledge and experience with the product development lifecycle.
Critical understanding of price, value, and network sensitivities related to the products.
Development and implementation of a “go to market” strategy.
Work with the broader organization to develop and execute on business strategies.
Help drive Guardian’s Group Life, Disability and Absence Thought Leadership activities.
Collaborate with Marketing and Training teams to create materials that educates, informs and drives sales.
Continuously strives to provide superior products and customer service.
Expresses oneself in an open and honest manner.
Demonstrates self-awareness and embraces feedback.
Broad knowledge of Group Life, Disability and Absence Management Distribution and Products.
Risk Management mindset.
Demonstrated ability to work with Distribution Organization.
Collaborative approach to achieving results.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Less than 25% Travel - travel to other Guardian offices and any applicable conferences.
