John Zink is looking for a Construction Superintendent!
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Senior-most on-site management on small to moderate sized industrial / mechanical field construction projects and reports directly to a Construction Manager on large and complex field construction projects.
Oversees all field construction personnel, which will include, but is not limited to: QA/QC, HS&E, Field Project Engineers, Craft Specific Superintendents, Craft, General Labor, Sub-contractors, etc.. On large projects the reporting structure will be revised to fit the needs of the project.
Interacts with the client project management, John Zink project management, vendors, contractors and/or construction team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to client / John Zink specifications.
Oversees/reviews and assists in the development of the Construction schedule.
Oversees the resolution of field engineering issues to insure solutions are presented to team members efficiently and effectively.
Relies on extensive experience, judgment and team work to plan and accomplish goals.
Leads by example, directs the work of others and ensures customer focus throughout the project’s entirety.
Possess strong communication skills, both with management at all levels, field staff as well as clients.
Reads and interprets drawings and specification and assures that work is performed as per Engineer’s design intent.
Ensures quality workmanship is maintained through-out the project(s) by onsite review, mentoring of subordinates and recognizing areas needing attention.
Represents John Zink in a positive and proactive manner, responding to concerns and complaints in a thorough and timely manner.

What You Will Need:
7+ years of experience managing some or all construction project requirements from mobilization to mechanical completion to start-up
5+ years of experience in an industrial / mechanical construction environment
3+ years of experience negotiating and managing vendor and equipment contracts
3+ years of experience of direct interaction with on-site and corporate clients
3+ years of experience supervising multiple crafts and support teams on site
Knowledge and proven ability to drive safety and compliance culture to expected outcomes or better.
Possess strong decision making, problem solving, leadership and management abilities
Familiarity with and ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross functional team.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed up to 100% of the time
Proven history of meeting stringent deadlines
High School Diploma or equivalent required
What Will Put You Ahead?
10+ years of experience in a heavy industrial, petroleum-chemical, or LNG construction turnkey environment
6+ years of experience supervising others
3+ years of experience managing the construction phase of capital projects up to $10M
3+ years of experience sourcing, recruiting and on-boarding staff
3+ years of experience working in a specific craft (i.e. piping, welding, civil)
Intimately familiar with a variety of the field’s turnkey concepts, practices, and procedures
Working knowledge of terms and conditions of project contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
Intimately familiar user of business software applications: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, etc.
OSHA 10 or 30 hour certifications preferred
Per Diem commensurate with location and experience.

The current opening is for a temporary position, with the possibility of full time employment, serving domestic projects. Transition to full time employment will be performance and evaluation based.
