WESTMED Practice Partners is currently seeking a dynamic Medical A/R Specialist with billing experience to join our Charlotte team. This individual will utilize billing and collection techniques to manage accounts receivables for multiple doctors. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy follow up, claims processing, appeals processing and some payment posting.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Gathering information needed to complete billing process from operational areas, including physicians
  • Follow up on accounts until zero balance or turned over for collections
  • Review claim payments for accuracy and compliance and posts payments appropriately
  • Resolve claim issues with insurance carriers and patients
  • Occasional charge entry into billing system

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma required
  • Prior experience in medical billing, verifying insurance coverage/eligibility, charge entry and calculating contractual reimbursements
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues and present information in a clear manner
  • Ability to communicate billing processes and other WESTMED operational procedures clearly
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations in a calm professional manner
  • Medical Coding experience is helpful
