Corporate Controller

Basic Function: Ourcontroller reports to the CEO and is responsible for the day to day finance& accounting operations of the company, to include supervision of a smallstaff, the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accountingrecords, and a comprehensive set of controls and forecast designed to mitigaterisk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, andensure that reported results comply with GAAP.

  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
  • Oversee the accounting operations of multiple corporations


  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all discounts are taken on accounts payable
  • Ensure that account receivables are collected promptly
  • Ensure that payroll and all related tax reporting is processed in a timely manner
  • Process monthly bank reconciliations
  • Maintain the chart of accounts / general ledger
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Responsible for making sure adequate insurance coverages are in place relating to general liability, property, auto, workers compensation and business interruption.


  • Prepare weekly tracking sheets to compare actual flock production to industry standards
  • Prepare weekly labor & machine efficiency standards and present results to management group
  • Prepare financials on a weekly basis and report results to management group
  • Prepare profit and cash flow forecasts for additional flocks to be placed into production
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations


  • Prepare information for external CPA firm to complete annual tax return
  • Prepare information monthly for bank to verify loan covenant compliance
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings


The ideal candidate should havea bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration and 5+ years ofexperience preferably with manufacturing company. He or she must possess strongwritten and verbal communications skills, advanced knowledge of Excel, theability to work with minimal supervision and the willingness to do whatever ittakes to whatever it takes to get the job done. QuickBooks experience is a plus.
