Ohio Truck Sales is looking to add an extremely self-motivated, hands-on Director of Marketing to our Marketing Department. Founded in 2010, OTS is a Carvana style semi-truck dealership that buys, refurbishes, and sells across the nation. Responsible for over 1,000+ truck sales each year, OTS’s humble beginnings have morphed into an 80,000 square foot refurbishing facility, inventory of over 230 trucks and an astonishing 160 employees.
Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing a clearly defined marketing and communication strategy (both digital & traditional) in a manner that supports business growth and enhances brand equity and awareness. Additionally, the Director of Marketing is responsible for managing internal marketing staff and other multiple entities in delivering effective marketing programs. This is a leadership position with opportunities for growth that is in control of planning, organizing, analyzing, sourcing, and managing all marketing functions to achieve company objectives of sales, growth, profitability and brand equity.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions
- Create and execute all marketing strategies and implement tactical plans that are aligned with the corporate mission
- Lead and manage digital marketing, social media marketing, advertising and brand standards
- Build strategies for achieving results and ensuring timely and effective execution of marketing tactics and programs
- Analyze and seek to continuously improve marketing strategies and tactics
- Conduct general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor’s marketing movements
- Coach, mentor and raise the team’s ability to deliver and exceed expectations while creating opportunities for succession of talent
- Develop and prepare key messaging and presentation materials for senior management
- Research and analyze economic trends, buying habits and demographic characteristics of potential customers, their tastes and preferences for company products and services and those of competitors
- Work closely with all team members to create demand by expanding internal networks that will expand awareness of products and services
- Become the organization’s agent towards external parties such as media, stakeholders, and potential clients and build strategic partnerships
Required Education, Skills & Abilities
- 5 years of experience with developing marketing strategies
- College degree in marketing or business, MBA preferred
- A track record of performance excellence meeting marketing goals and objectives
- Strong analytical, planning, forecasting and budgeting/financial skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Possesses a creative mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes
- Respectful and outstanding leadership skills that motivate staff to exceed expectations
- The ability to articulate a vision and strategy in a way that inspires and motivates a team and focuses their energy on achieving company goals
- Expert knowledge of digital marketing strategies and tactics
- Experience with conducting and analyzing research, both qualitative and quantitative
- Some travel required, less than 10%
