Staff Development Coordinator RN

A long term care facility in Northern Rhode Island, who specializes in Alzheimer's/Dementia, Mental Health, skilled and long term care services is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse to fulfill the position of Staff Development Coordinator.

Staff Development RN Duties:

  • Responsible for overseeing the educational needs of the staff to meet RI DOH and other regulatory mandates and requirements
  • Monitor and oversee employee health and orientation process for the entire staff
  • Educate, coach and verify staff performance to ensure best practice, compliance and customer service
  • Know and understand a variety of concepts, practices and procedures in regards to the nursing home industry
  • Attend educational workshops to maintain professional and technical certificates and overall knowledge
  • Record and document educational activity, attendance and response
  • Assist the Director of Nurses and the Unit Managers of the facility in planning, coordinating, and implementing staff programs and services to ensure a well-educated staff
  • Maintain appropriate records and assist in data collection for assessment and evaluation purposes
  • Consult and keep the Director of Nurses and Unit Managers informed regarding standard operating procedures as appropriate
  • Review incident reports/OSHA reports involving injuries occurring at work and create and coordinate educational programs

Position Requirements:

  • Current Rhode Island State Registered Nursing License
  • Solid computer skills with both MS Office and MS Excel
  • Excellent Communication skills with both peers and subordinates
  • Friendly attitude with the desire to teach and support all staff members
  • Experience in this position is required
