Position (Title): Product Configuration Software Engineer
Department: IT / Fenestration
Location: Dublin, GA
The company is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on individual with high standards of performance to support our growing manufacturing operation. This candidate will support and manage the product data & configurators required for commercial products in the Fenestration industry. This is including, but not limited to item masters, BOM’s, labor, cost, price, mfg. data, sales data, and reports, and to ensure this data remains accurate for sales and manufacturing production use. This data will be used to drive product configuration at the customer level, both external and internal estimating, costing, pricing, order processing, material allocations, inventory mgmt., purchasing, production, shipping billing & invoicing.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Product Configuration Management – Ability to analyze engineering data, BOM’s, drawings, system details, product master data, marketing collateral and other materials to establish logical product configurators in software tailored for the fenestration industry.
Data Management – Ability to maintain item masters, BOM’s, labor, routings, cost and price data for initial product launches as well as engineering changes within a products life cycle.
Project Management – Initiates and leads project objectives and maintains project schedules by identifying work tasks, dependencies, and timing of cross-functional timelines and goals.
Communication Effectiveness – Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and written, to consult with internal and external departments to gain data, and working knowledge about business processes and product knowledge and participates as a key contributor in a projects success.
Education, Experience & Skills Required:
College, University, or equivalent technical degree in business, engineering, or IT related disciplines.
Candidate must have at least 2-5 years of demonstrated working knowledge in the area of product data & configuration management within a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in MRP & ERP systems with working knowledge of manufacturing business practices – Configuration management, estimating, order processing – and how those relational areas are effected by data management.
Working knowledge of relational databases - MS SQL Server.
Ability to navigate and use AutoCAD.
Proficient in MS Office Applications.
