Andrew Consulting Engineers is a full-service structural engineering firm based out of Wilmington, NC, proud to have been awarded many prestigious projects over the last two decades. For the first time in 10 years, we are looking for a structural engineer to join our team. We rarely have openings because our team members enjoy working here!
Andrew Consulting Engineers has grown over the last 15+ years to be the prominent firm we are today, thanks to our capable and dedicated team. We enjoy taking on complex structural, forensic and marine/coastal projects because of the final product: visually stunning, sound structures. Our services include the structural design of buildings constructed of reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry and timber. We are known across our industry and community for the great care we take with clients and employees alike.
We need a structural engineer who excels at performing various aspects of structural design including conceptual studies, calculations, systems selection and layout for structure design. They will be organized and analytical in their approach as they prepare schematic documents, design development documents, and construction documents. The engineer will also perform structural services associated with the bidding process, including preparing addenda and amendments, field visits, review of shop drawings, and preparing record drawings.
This engineer will work with and respond to Project Managers, Design Managers, other structural engineers, architects, interior designers and landscape partners so concise and timely communication skills are important!

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building designs
- Proficiency with Structural Engineering software
- Experience designing steel, concrete, timber, and masonry buildings
- PE Licensure, or ability for licensure examination within 1 year
Preferred Qualifications include master’s degree in Civil engineering with Structural emphasis and experience in evaluation and renovation of existing buildings.

The Location: Andrew Consulting Engineers is located in Wilmington, NC, nominated year-over-year as one of Southern Living’s best southern towns. Wilmington is a 280-year-old port city and the population of the city is approximately 119,000; the county’s population is approximately 227,200. Wilmington is the cultural, medical, educational, and economic center of this region.
Today, the Wilmington area and its adjacent rural/suburban counties are experiencing substantial growth, as both tourists and potential residents discover the desirability of vacationing and living in the area.
