For 25 years, the Maine Children'sAlliance (MCA) has advocated for sound public policies that improve the livesof children, youth and families in Maine. MCA’s mission is to ensure that allMaine children have the resources and opportunity to reach their full potential.By collecting and analyzing data, partnering with organizations and building coalitions,and promoting data-driven policy decisions, MCA works to support parentsand providers and to inform the public and policy makers to make Maine a greatplace to be a child.

MCA seeks an Executive Director to advance MCA's mission.The Executive Director provides overall management, planning, and vision consistentwith the Board of Directors, policies, and by-laws. Key responsibilitiesinclude: researching issues and presenting findings to stakeholders; conductingpolicy and legislative analysis; planning and implementing advocacy efforts; collaboratingwith allied organizations and representing MCA throughout Maine and beyond;preparing the annual budget and overseeing all financial operations; developingand nurturing funding sources; and attracting, developing and retaining ahighly talented staff.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in socialwork, public administration, sociology, business administration or a relatedfield (or the equivalent in education and closely-related work experience), andfive or more years of professional, impactful experience in leading anon-profit organization that focuses on research, collaboration andadvocacy. Experience in advocating forchildren is essential. Additional requirements include demonstrated leadershipability, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proven ability infinancial management, relationship building, decision making and problemsolving.
