Overview:
SENIOR MARITIME CONSULTANT/SME (DOT):
Bowhead seeks a Senior Maritime Consultant/SME and Resilience Advisor to join our team in Washington, DC. The Senior Maritime Supply Chain and Resilience Advisor, US Committee on the Marine Transportation System reports directly to the Executive Director and serves as the primary and senior staff lead within the US Committee on Marine Transportation System (CMTS) Executive Secretariat for all maritime transportation data and associated systems analysis. Additionally, as Infrastructure Investment Team Coordinator, you will work with the CMTS Economic Advisor to provide staff support to all interagency maritime investment-related activities. You will also join the Executive Secretariat staff to provide general CMTS activity support, which may include, but not be limited to, quarterly senior leadership meetings, monthly interagency working group meetings, and outreach activities. There is flexibility to expand portfolio based upon experience, interests and needs of the CMTS.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary and senior staff lead within the CMTS Executive Secretariat for all maritime transportation supply chain and resilience-related issues and activities.

Act as CMTS senior staff-level liaison with issue-associated CMTS member subject matter experts.

Provide primary staff support and expertise for the Maritime Resilience Integrated Action Team.

Provide primary staff support for the Maritime Supply Chain and Infrastructure Integrated Action Team.

As directed, will initiate stakeholder outreach in support of CMTS supply chain and resilience activities and other CMTS activities as directed by the Executive Director, senior staff advisors, or agency leaders of the integrated action teams.

May represent the CMTS at appropriate conferences, workshops and meetings.

Will provide general staff support to the CMTS Executive Secretariat and other activities, as needed.

Some travel, as safe and appropriate, and pursuant to funding.

Position generally follows the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is located at the CMTS office at 1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE, Washington, DC 20590, or as recommended under CDC and DOT safety guidelines.

Intermittent telework negotiable.
Qualifications:
- Project management certification or three (3+) years of project management experience

Three (3+) years' experience managing or supporting teams and meetings

Experience or education in marketplace, environmental, or man-made factors impacting coastal communities and/or maritime sectors.

Working knowledge and experience with multiple meeting platforms and office applications.

Graduate degree a plus.

Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:

The pay scale for this position is between $50 - $100/hr
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is required for a Public Trust clearance at this location.
