Job Description Summary:
The main function of the Assistant Warehouse Manager is to assist in coordination, directives and customer service functions for the overall success and timeliness of warehouse operations. In this role, you will help to manage our warehouse operation in successfully fulfilling orders each week and assistant the Warehouse Manager with all other duties assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Warehouse Manager will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

Contribute to the daily activities of the warehouse operations. Such activities include shipping, receiving, inventory control, product delivery, customer service and associate management
Assists with monitoring procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
Coordinates with customer service representatives to meet customer demands regarding rush orders, delivery dates, special requests, etc.
Assists with associate development through means of strong and consistent leadership, training and retraining as needed. This will include assisting with performance appraisals, reward and recognition, timekeeping, and disciplining and grievance resolution to name a few
Follows and establishes good housekeeping and organizational practices including effective use of all warehouse space
Identify needed areas of improvement and propose ideas for the enhancement
Remains current on changes in policies, procedures and product information
Responsible for complying with all safety rules at all times
Promotes a high level of cooperation, communication and coordination between the supervisors and associates of all departments. Demonstrating a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow associates
Is flexible to work hours beyond and/or outside regular work schedule to ensure coverage as deemed necessary by the position
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Work Experience: 3 years of shipping and warehouse experience
Education: High School Diploma
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills
Organization Skills: Maintain clean and organized work space.
Cross-functional skills: Ability to work and handle multiple job assignments, capability to be forklift certified
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate within a team setting
Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: Ability to lift, bend, and twist throughout the workday. Also could be asked to lift up to 75lbs
Physical Environment: Fast pace warehouse environment with ability to operate forklifts, hand jacks and cherry pickers

Preferred Requirements:
Education: Associates Degree in Business Management or related experience
Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills
