The Information Management team is responsible for ensuring that BCU as an enterprise is capable of making data driven decisions through ensuring a robust scalable platform, well understood and trusted Self-Service, and Data Science capabilities as well as mature Data Governance and Data Strategy functions. This role will be part of the team with PowerBI engineers, Data Scientists, Information Architects and Data Governance practitioners. We all share a passion for knowledge and data in support of our members long-term financial well-being.
Cloud Data Operations Engineer is going to work in concert with IT and Information Management teams to increase BCU’s Data Management Maturity through enabling Data Quality, Metadata Management solutions throughout the enterprise.
Role and Responsibilities
Build and implement complex data solutions in the cloud (Azure Cloud)
Uncover and recommend remediations for data quality anomalies.
Assist the business with Metadata Management and Data Governance activities from the engineering standpoint.
Investigate, recommend, and implement data ingestion and ETL performance improvements (T-SQL, SSIS, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse).
Document data ingestion and ETL program designs, present findings, conduct peer code reviews.
Develop and execute test plans to validate code.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
4+ years of experience building complex ETL programs with Informatica, DataStage, Spark, Dataflow, etc. (Azure Data Factory preferred)
3+ years of experience in Python, PowerShell and/or c#, developing complex SQL queries, and working with relational database technologies.
Experience configuring big data solutions in a cloud environment (Azure platform components preferred).
Experience using cloud storage and computing technologies such as Big Query, RedShift, or Snowflake (Azure Synapse Preferred).
Experience developing complex technical and ETL programs within an Azure Cloud infrastructure
Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Engineering, or a related field.
