Kearney has an exciting new opportunity for a Audit Liaison Senior Associate to join our Arlington, VA team. The Senior Associate will be required to have an experience with Federal government financial statement audits; audit liaison interactions with external auditors; knowledge of Defense Finance and Accouting Services (DFAS) operations, Statement of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), GAAP, and other applicable federal and DoD financial management regulations and guidelines.
Execute the day-to-day accounting research and analysis activities of the engagement
DOD Fund Balance with Treasury (FBwT) processes, Statement of Difference, and Suspense Accounts analysis and recommendations
Experience and knowledge withCivPay FECA business processes; prepare process flows; recommend process improvement; draft/review SOPs; conduct/host working sessions
Identifying the conditions and issues preventing Army from maintaining generating financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Proposing new or revised accounting policies and procedures as well as implementation strategies to address audit findings
Designing corrective action plans to address the root causes of audit findings
Developing and assisting in the implementation of a strategy to overcome material weaknesses
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Logistics or Business Management and one of the following: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Logistics or Business Management; CPA; CISA
Minimum 4 years of experience with federal financial management
Knowledge of DFAS, FBWT, SFFAS, GAAP, FASAB, OMB Circular A-123, GAO Green Book, DoD Financial Management Regulation, Systems and Procedures for Acquisition, Disposal of Property and Material Management.
Ability to obtain and maintain an interim secret level security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required)
Possess an understanding of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions
General ledger/financial reporting experience specifically with Army entitlement systems (ADS, DTS, IPAC, MOCAS) and DCAS
Experience with Advana or DRRT - Analyze data for anomalies and trends. Create dashboards and metrics with Tableau
Experience/expertise in providing assessments and improvements of financial statement auditability plans, have experience in providing audit infrastructure support for a large-scale audit
Expertise with production quality commercial off the shelf (COTS) tools, techniques and templates to complete audit readiness assessments and implement recommendations
