Basic Purpose-The Manager, Data Strategy - Insights and Analytics is responsible for leading domain-specific data governance activities. Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Data Governance, will have responsibility for improving assigned domain data quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets. Will support in domain with the establishment of and adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards, and practices at the Business Unit levels required to achieve the level of consistency, quality, and protection to meet overall business needs. Will work with peer Managers in other domains (e.g. Product, Customer, Vendor) to establish and maintain consistent policies, standards, and practices across domains.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead Data Governance Office domain activities

Advise the Senior Manager, Data Governance on domain in the establishment and oversight of an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap, including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities

Support domain aspects of the roll out and maintenance of an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, business processes, related tools, and data models & architecture

Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and thought leader on assigned domain-specific Data Governance principles and their application across US Foods

Responsible for development & maintenance of domain enterprise information map inventory, including the system of record and owner for key domain data

Develop and implement domain data quality standards, data protection standards, and adoption requirements across the enterprise

Provide domain support for the Senior Manager, Data Governance’s leadership of Senior Management on US Foods’ Data Governance Council, comprised of representative resources from the Business/Functional areas and IT business/operations functions, to achieve their objectives

Represent the assigned domain on US Foods’ Data Governance Organization, with tactical and operational data stewards, and in support of the Data Governance Council

Partner with US Foods Shared Business Services assigned Domain Information Management team on the execution of Data Governance policies, procedures, and processes

Oversee division personnel where necessary for assigned domain classification related items, as required

Develop and deliver domain-specific data governance program education, awareness, and mentoring materials

Articulate the needs for and benefits of changes in specifications and business processes to business and IT to gain support for implementing these changes

Provide quality assurance of domain data governance
Establishes, maintains, and periodically reviews and recommends changes to domain data governance policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures
Assists in defining domain data quality metrics for periodic release
Supports domain data quality issue analysis and remediation of strategic data
Conducts domain audits to ensure that policies, procedures and metrics are in place for maintaining/improving the Data Governance Program

Manage, or support, the relationship with third-party vendors that provide domain data as needed

Identify new business opportunities relative to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency

Education / Training

Bachelor’s degree in Business / Marketing / Finance / Operations/ Supply Chain Management/ Engineering or related quantitative field required
MBA or advanced degree preferred
Data Governance Certification preferred
Continuous Improvement Green Belt or higher preferred
Related Experience
6 years experience working with assigned domain data/information
4 years experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Analysis

4 years experience influencing individual contributors in a matrixed or shared business services environment

4 years experience in food distribution, retail, CPG, or related industries
