Scope and Purpose of Position:
The Director, IT Infrastructure will coordinate with developers to design and deploy secure applications. Research, design and implement systems required to keep environment secure and stable. Provide guidance, support and training to Support Center analysts. Installs, modifies and makes repairs to servers, Storage Area Network, Local Area Network, Wide Area Network and software systems.
Implement and maintain the availability of all systems and stay up to date with industry technical developments.
Provide guidance to analysts on application changes, system changes, troubleshooting procedures, and resolution procedures.
Take ownership, analyze and communicate systems issues that cannot be resolved by analysts.
Review and enhance documentation for troubleshooting and resolution procedures for analyst support.
Identify and analyze recurring problems due to systems changes, training and user errors.
Effectively communicate recurring problems to management.
Coordinate activities between other Information Services groups and other departments.
Provide and update status information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users.
Promptly escalates unresolved critical problems beyond the service level threshold to the appropriate area or vendor.
Supervise all activities with the Support Center and all activities associated with technical issues.
Supervise, develop and motivate staff through effective coaching, counseling, performance evaluation, skill and competency growth, performance goals and career development.
Education & Experience:
- Preferred bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination or experience and education
- Five (5) plus years of experience designing and maintaining stable and secure server environment, LAN environments and SAN environments
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems and TCP/IP based networks
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
Cisco Certified Network Administrator
Cross training in all departments as needed
Must possess project management and prioritization skills
Able to multi-task for a variety of projects/initiatives, including executing and delivering results in a timely manner
Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
Must be very organized and detail oriented
Analytical thinker with desire to be continually challenged
Ability to reason and solve challenges
