Overview: Patriot Strategies, LLC is seeking an exceptional candidate to join our team in support of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). As an Action Officer within the Platforms and Weapons Portfolio Management (PWPM) Directorate, you will play a critical role in countering emerging threats posed by unmanned systems. This position focuses on both C-sUAS and broader C-UXS initiatives, making it an exciting opportunity for professionals with expertise in air defense, force protection, and defense acquisition. The ideal candidate will consult on the technical and managerial actions and provide expert advice, support and coordination to facilitate the vetting, funding, implementation, operations and support approaches to satisfy C-sUAS and C-UXS requirements.
Responsibilities:
Counter Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS):
- Lead efforts to counter unmanned small aircraft systems (C-sUAS) within the DoD.
- Collaborate with interagency partners, test personnel, and cross-functional teams to develop effective strategies.
- Prepare briefings and reports for senior leaders, providing accurate analysis and interpretation of intelligence reports.
- Track technological advancements in C-sUAS and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions.
Counter Unmanned Systems (C-UXS) Portfolio Management:
- Serve as the C-UXS Subject Matter Expert, assisting with oversight of the portfolio of DoD counter unmanned systems.
- Manage C-UXS initiatives, including:
- Counter Unmanned Ground Vehicles (C-UGV): Defeating land-based robotic systems.
- Counter Unmanned Surface Vessels (C-USV): Defeating unmanned surface vessels.
- Counter-Unmanned Underwater Vessels (C-UUV): Defeating underwater autonomous or remotely-operated vessels.
- Leverage your background in systems program management and defense acquisition to drive progress in these critical areas.
Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance
- Background in Air Defense and/or Force Protection or specific familiarity with C-UAS/C-UXS.
- Knowledge of unmanned systems, architecture, and technologies.
- Ability to develop and deliver compelling PowerPoint presentations and written reports.
- Self-motivated with a track record of adding organizational value.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience with C-sUAS/C-UXS initiatives.
- Familiarity with DoD systems research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E).
- Understanding of Defense Acquisition processes and management.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of work experience
Daily Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple Counter-UXS projects by collaborating with DoD and interagency stakeholders.
- Utilize formal DoD Tasking Management Systems to track and manage tasks.
- Lead working groups and coordinate issues across multiple DoD components.
- Work closely with technical subject matter experts to keep developmental programs on schedule.
- Support the Director, Surface Warfare at senior executive-level, cross-functional meetings.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, coordinating, documenting, and, when necessary, chair meetings.
- Prepare and coordinate professional written products, including project plans, white papers, briefings, and staff actions.
- Review Plan, Program, Budget, and Execute (PPBE) documents and data to ensure transition planning and programming for capabilities acquired as Joint Urgent Operational Needs is accomplished.
- Facilitate, generate, and/or sponsor legislative and policy actions to promote the effectiveness, efficiency, and timeliness of satisfying validated C-sUAS and C-UXS capabilities across DoD.
