Job Summary: Build and create powerful, consistent branding in the public eye. Developing and executing strategic plans putting DDAR and the DDAR Foundation in front of the media, opening doors for public speaking opportunities, and delivering branded content through our social media channels educating the public on the importance of oral health.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Research and develop story ideas that can be pitched to media outlets to garner earned media exposure plus shape content for distribution through various channels (e.g., social media channels, website content).
Develop and foster relationships with producers, reporters, editors, and media contributors/ influencers; build and manage media lists; and, build, maintain and strategize against editorial/pitching calendars.
Actively monitor state and local media for mention of DDAR. Provide written summaries of key media stories affecting and related to DDAR's business.
Research and write press releases plus any required press briefing materials.
Seek and secure opportunities for DDAR leadership and subject matter experts to speak at local and state events, community organizations (e.g. Rotary, Kiwanis Clubs, etc.) on oral health related topics and the ongoing work of the DDAR Foundation.
Creation of content and editorial calendar for all social media channels and blog.
Daily management and posting to all social media channels including scheduling posts on weekends and off hours.
Ongoing creation of new content concepts in response to fan/follower engagement behaviors, industry trends, holidays, company events, etc.
Monitor and respond to user and member generated comments and posts on all social media sites in a timely manner (including weekends and holidays) and in order to foster a positive community experience; escalate customer service issues to the appropriate internal team members.
Produce creative content for social media including images, GIFs, videos, infographics, etc.
Track, report and evaluate social media data, analytics and ROI reports with suggestions for growth and recommend improvements to increase effectiveness.
Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or journalism.
Minimum of 3 years Marketing or PR experience (corporate or agency) required.
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) plus, Microsoft Office Suite for Windows.
Hands-on experience using social media for brand awareness
Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
Passion for media, technology and popular culture, with an understanding of existing and emerging social networks. Actively participates in a wide variety of social media activities such as posting, blogging, etc.
Excellent multitasking skills
Proven verbal and written communication skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team; manage multiple projects with competing deadlines; and, solve problems using independent judgment.
Basic knowledge of photography.
Existing relationships with statewide Arkansas media outlets.
