The PV Roof Sales Director/Manager is responsible for driving business through the sale of PV modules and systems to new residential builders and roof installers, mainly in CA. This position reports to the Director of Sales Planning or another senior management personnel that the President of the Company may designate.


  • Capitalize on Hanwha Q CELLS America’s existing solar business to identify and develop plans;
  • Pursue new opportunities for growth in one of the following markets;

- Develop the opportunities in accordance with new Title 24 regulation in CA
- Expected new customers are new residential builders in CA, including developers and contractors, and roof installers
- Prioritize opportunities by geography, and approach by priority with expansion

  • Deep analysis and comprehension of current residential build and roof market dynamics and needs, and this is a critical function of Q CELLS overall strategy in North America
  • Development of ‘go to market’ strategies including identification and approach to strategic partners and customers in residential builder and roof installation segment
  • Define the business model and standard contract terms as well as work with marketing to define and execute marketing campaigns;
  • Create a strategic plan for market expansion and area development in conjunction with the Marketing department;
  • Set-up and lead the PV sales for residential builders and roof installers
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales Planning.

West Coast markets include: California mainly and then expand to Nevada, Arizona


  • Minimum of 7~10 years of experience in top 20 new residential developers in CA
  • Developing luxury residential community in CA
  • Experience working at planning, architect and procurement
  • Experience working at roof selection and installation
  • PV selection and installation related experience preferred
  • Building code and energy storage related experience preferred
  • Substantial network within CA new developers and general contractors
  • Ability to understand architect, building codes and construction process
  • Ability to develop PV business with residential developers and roof installers
  • Excellent understanding of residential developers, general contractors, and roof installers
  • Proven track record closing deals over $100 million
  • Willingness to travel, at least 50% of the time
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of sustainable development and their application to business development
  • Ability to identify and develop key strategic partnerships
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be comfortable interfacing outside the company, including executive presentations, negotiations, and contractual review
  • Proven ability to structure, negotiate, grow and complete multimillion dollar account relationships
  • Must be a strong leader, creative, possessing strategic planning skills
  • High degree of professionalism and conduct at all times
